Working With Me
I understand that it’s nice to know what to expect. So, what does it mean to work with a health coach? According to the National Board for Health and Wellness Coaching,
“Health and Wellness Coaches partner with clients seeking self-directed, lasting changes, aligned with their values, which promote health and wellness and, thereby, enhance well-being. In the course of their work health and wellness coaches display unconditional positive regard for their clients and a belief in their capacity for change, and honoring that each client is an expert on his or her life, while ensuring that all interactions are respectful and non-judgmental.”
In other words, I respectfully work with you to reach your highest health potential in a way that honors your time, goals and values. I use a client management platform called Practice Better, which helps me to ensure all your health information is kept secure & confidential. Depending upon your preference, our coaching sessions can be either in-person, video chat or over the phone. Our sessions together might look like: Exploring your personality to help you unlock your character strengths; setting short & long term health goals; creating routines to help sustain goal achievement; discussions around boundaries, relationships & self-care time; sleep hygiene; nourishment; letting go of harmful habits; honoring your body with movement. Each session flows to support you and your well being; coaching has a fluidity that comes as the coach-client relationship builds.
A little note on what I don’t do: I do not treat or prescribe for clients. I make suggestions based upon your health goals, however, I am not a physicican, therapist, pharmacist or phychologist. That being said, I often ask for health markers from my clients to help me have a more broad understanding of their internal health. If perhaps, while working together, I come across a health marker that has caught my attention, I might encourage you to seek the assistance of your doctor. When this occurs, we simply continue on with meeting your health goals in congruency to you working with your physician.
Other things to note…When you head to my bookings page, you’ll see different program options for how to best find support for your health and wellness goals. There are two super helpful services I provide: A grocery shopping trip together and a home pantry check-up. Based on your liking, one of these options is offered to clients who sign up with a minimum of a 3 or 6 month program. The one month program does not include these options, however you are able to buy separately. All other details of my offerings can be accessed on my Practice Better bookings page.
